9 Months

Yikes! We have not been abnormally busy in the Wiegratz household but it’s been over a month since I’ve updated on the life and times of Lennon Wiegratz. It’s tough to find time to update on the day to day things, but I at least want to be consistent with his monthly posts so here goes…

Lennon has been such a ham lately. I think he gets bored with Dave and me because he’s a happier boy when other people are around. Or at least the people he knows are most likely to buy him presents...grandparents and doting aunts and uncles, to name a few. When we bring him to daycare in the morning he goes immediately to the toys and doesn’t look back. I try to give him kisses and tell him goodbye but he just shoves my face away.

Speaking of daycare, he lurves to be around other kids. There are usually some older kids in his room in the morning and he just stares at them and gives a little grunt to get their attention. They proceed to ignore him, but he follows them around anyway. We got a note the other day that they are going to start transitioning him to the next room in a couple weeks. I cannot believe how quickly his time in the infant 1 room went! It makes me a little sad, but I think he’s ready for bigger and better things. They also mentioned that he’s afraid of a couple of the teachers so they’re going to start coming into his room so he can get used to them….good Lord. So yeah, still a little stranger danger. I’m realizing he just needs a little time to get used to new people.

I joke that he prefers the grandparents, but he does love to cuddle with mom and laugh and “joke” with Dad. Dinner time is my favorite because he’ll sit in his high chair and “talk” to Dave and me or make gasping noises so we look over at him. He’s still a good eater, but he’s started to get pretty independent. He wants to feed himself and he prefers bananas so we usually have to roll those out after he’s eaten the rest of his food. He eats well at daycare and they’ve commented more than once about how messy he is. About half of what we put in front of him ends up on the floor or in his hair during mealtime.

The biggest change I’m noticing this month is that he’s starting to test us. He hates napping and when he doesn’t want to be in his crib he’ll stand up and throw his pacifier on the floor. We have wood floors so we can hear it hit the ground on his monitor. One day Dave went in to his room and there were three pacifiers lined up on the floor in front of his crib. He also throws toys & drops food on the floor and then looks at us for a reaction. He’s starting to understand “no”, but he takes it more as a suggestion than an order. When he really wants to go after something he’ll go into turbo crawl mode and I almost have to run to get ahead of him. He loves to stand up & walk around furniture. He also enjoys throwing things & chasing them, taking books off of shelves, shutting doors & peek a boo. He spends the majority of his day saying, “da da da da da da”, clicking his tongue and making a weird whistle sound on his gums, ha.

Here are some photos of our little bugger this month:

I was going to do a separate post about our first trip with Lennon, but at the rate I’m going it won’t be posted until February. It’s our yearly tradition to spend Thanksgiving in Florida with the Wiegratz family. It was Lennon’s first big trip and his first time riding on an airplane. We had a really good time despite spending about 50% of it getting Lennon to settle for naps or bed.  Lennon LOVED being with his grandparents, aunt Sara & uncles Nate and Ryan. It was like one big party where there was always someone to entertain him. I ruined the beach by setting him down too close to the shoreline and allowing a huge wave to knock him over. Way to go, mom. Maybe next year.

Throwing & Crawling

Well, another week down and another milestone for Lennon. He started crawling last week on his 8 month birthday. It was on a night when we’d pushed him to his bedtime limit by going out to eat. He fought getting his diaper and pajamas on so I let him roll around naked for a few minutes. I turned to grab something and when I looked back he was up on all 4’s and crawling towards his dresser. He must have felt much “freer” being naked ;). He loves to take his grubby little fingers and mess with the knobs on his dresser, so I should have known that would be good motivation.

Our other favorite pastime this week is playing catch. I don’t know if Lennon really gets that he’s throwing the ball back to us, but we’ll pretend he does. We’re going to need to work on that arm if he’s going to be the next Joe Mauer.

Other things to remember about the week: Daycare informed me that Lennon loves the book “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom.” They said he laughs and gets wide eyed whenever they read it. I bought a copy on Amazon as he definitely has certain books he pays attention to & some that he gets bored with. They had a fire drill at daycare this week and I learned that they get all the kids out by putting them into a crib and rolling them out of the building., ha ha. Apparently Lennon was pretty amused to be riding outside in a crib with his friends. Let’s hope he doesn’t laugh if he’s ever getting wheeled out of an actual burning building. That would be creepy.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

The Life of an 8 Month Old

Lennon is 8 months old this week. I can’t believe he’ll be 1 year old in just 4 more months!
For the past couple of months he has been attempting to move in one fashion or another. He started by rolling himself over several times to get to his destination. Then he began scooting backwards on his belly. We were sure he’d start crawling any day, but several weeks went by and he kept scooting his little life away. His new form of transportation is doing the worm. He needs some major motivation to go very far…like the power cords under the TV stand, or some other object that he knows he’s not supposed to have. Crawling would be easier, bud.

In other news, Lennon had his first high grade fever this past weekend. He got a little extra cuddle time over those days and now he’s a bit of an attention whore. I actually thought he had an ear infection because he’s been so out of sorts since his fever. I took him to the doctor and everything is fine. I’m starting to think he’s acting up just to stay home with mom & dad. He cries for me while I’m getting ready in the morning and just wants to be held. This needs to stop as it breaks my heart! Hopefully it’s just a phase that he’ll get over soon.
We’ve been upping our repertoire of finger foods for the little man. Sweet potatoes, steamed apples, avocado, bananas…you name it, he’ll eat it. He still doesn’t have any teeth so we’re a little limited on what we feel comfortable giving him. I tried blueberries, but I found a chunk of blueberry skin on Sophie like 3 hours after he ate, so I’m pretty sure he just stores food in his cheeks when he can’t process it, ha.
He’s a pretty good humored kid and still laughs hardest at Dave. Our new trick is putting a stocking cap on our heads and then dramatically throwing it off. It gets him every time.

Lennon had his first Halloween this past week. We dressed him as Dennis the Menace for daycare. He ended up getting sick that day, so no trick-or-treating this year. Wuah Wuah.

He seems to be a bit of a rough-houser. He loves to crawl on the couch and let himself fall backwards so we have to catch him. He also likes when we bounce a ball off of his belly or head & he’s starting to try to throw the ball back when we throw it to him.
He’s apparently a little Casanova at daycare…he’s been known to hold hands with both Lauren & Adele during story time. Adele’s dad is a big football coach…I’d stay away from that one, Lennon.
Favorite toys of the moment: “Peek-a-Who” book, a makeshift rattle I made out of Tupperware and coffee beans, one if his empty formula containers to bang on & tags. He has a Taggie blanket, but he really only likes the real deal. So basically anything that’s not an actual toy. He’s still a big fan of stroller & car rides. He puts up a big stink when he has to get in his car seat, but once he’s strapped in, he’s good to go.
It seems like every day a new little personality trait comes out. It’s so fun to watch him grow & change.
Happy 8 months little man!

Some Videos for Your Tuesday

Lennon has been finding his voice lately. He’s always been a little bit of a spaz…he cries really hard if he’s too cold when you’re changing him & he almost throws a tantrum if we take too long to get him his bottle. Can’t wait for the toddler years, ha. Here he is having a little conversation with himself…and beating up on Sophie.

Pretty comfortable pivoting in the Johnny Jump up these days. Why can’t I shut my yapper when I record? I always seem to forget how annoying I sound. It’s Lennon’s video, Erin. Not yours!

A new found love for rolling backwards off the sofa.

It took about two weeks for the novelty of riding forward in the grocery cart to wear off. Now that he’s over it, my shopping trips have become a lot less relaxing. He’ll turn around in the cart & try to pull things off the shelf in the check-out aisle if I don’t watch him carefully. I turned away for 2 seconds and he pulled my billfold out of my wallet. I wrote a check the other day and realized there were water stains on all my checks from him sucking on it…gross.

Have a great week, everyone!

Playing Catch-Up

It’s been awhile since I’ve updated the old blog so here goes. Lennon is 7 ½ months old and he loves the life he lives. Some things he’s been up to over the past month or so;
He’s been starting to do things that are actually deliberate. Like making funny noises so we laugh & peeking his head around the corner to play peek-a-boo. He thinks the most random things are funny; Dave running down the stairs, lifting our phones over our eyes while taking a picture or video, or kneeling down on the ground and waving “bye bye” while he’s in his high chair.
Physically he continues to grow. His legs are like little chubby stubs. They are so strong & if he doesn’t want to sit he’ll just arch his back and make his legs straight and stiff. He gets up on all 4’s and rocks and can scoot himself backwards, but no crawling yet. Bouncing is still his favorite pastime. We brought out the Johnny Jump Up a few weeks ago and it was a big hit. He also bounces when he hears music. He apparently likes to sing songs at daycare; the other week his report sheet said, “Lennon loves when we sing his name during the best friend song”. Whatever that is. I really need to up my repertoire of crappy kid music.
I continue to be wrong about the teething as I still don’t see anything coming through. This past weekend I could swear I saw two little white dots, but then I looked again this morning and didn’t notice them. He clamps his gums together a lot and will yell “dadadadadada”.
He is still eating about 25 oz. of formula a day and he eats solids twice. He usually wakes once in the night for a bottle. He’s tried a big variety of food at this point, but his favorites seem to be squash & any fruit that’s not too sour, like bananas. His broccoli and carrot mixture had to be diluted with oatmeal before he’d finish it the other night. Our newest revelation is finger food. He loves puffs, chunks of banana & sweet potatoes. I bought a $5.00 bag of yogurt melts that I’m trying to extend because dang….$5.00 a bag? Over the past few days he’s started whining if we are eating food that he can’t have.
He continues to wet through his diapers almost every night. Most nights he goes to bed between 6:30-7:00. I’d like to push this a little later, but he’s so exhausted after daycare. He gets up for a bottle around 11:00 then usually sleeps until 6:00-6:30.
Speaking of daycare, he loves his friends there.  When Dave drops him off in the morning he gets a huge smile on his face. He doesn’t nap well because it’s pretty loud in his room. Luckily when he moves on to the infant 2 room in a few months he’ll have a more structured nap schedule.
Who needs Disney World when you have the grocery store? I started letting him ride like a big boy in the cart and he thinks it’s the coolest thing. Riding through the beverage aisle is like Toys ‘R Us.
Stroller rides are still a favorite. He lays back and yells random gibberish as we stroll through the neighborhood. If we try to talk to him or smile he’ll look away and ignore us. I guess this is his special “alone” time.
He gets sleepy in the car & still does well for most of the time. I’m finding that he’s pretty happy if we’re out and about. Anytime we’re at a restaurant or store he’s pretty content looking around all of the people and objects.
Baby boy has some serious stranger anxiety going on lately. He’ll cry if anyone stops to say hello at the store or if anyone new comes into his room at daycare. He’s been a stage 4 clinger to mom and dad lately…even when we’re just home by ourselves. We’re working on this, but something tells me it’s just a phase that he needs to get through himself.

Lennon's class picture. Yep, he was afraid of the photographer.

Zen time in the stroller.

Bouncing his life away. Can't figure out how to get this upright. Enjoy watching with your head turned to the side...sorry ;).

Still hard to believe our newborn child is going to be 8 months in a few weeks! We love him and his little personality.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Warning: this is a sleep post. It’s long and boring & you may want to just ignore it. I hesitate to ever blog about anything sleep related because I swear every time I do Lennon switches things up on us. At any rate, we’ve been obsessing over sleep for over 6 months now, but something tells me we might forget about it if I don’t document. Like I’ve almost forgotten about fussy newborn evenings & that was a mere 5 months ago.

Anyway, by 6 months old our sleep situation with Lennon got out of control. We’d get home from daycare, eat dinner, maybe go for a walk and then by 7:30 either Dave or I would have to bring him to our bed for the night to get him settled. One of us would brush our teeth and get ready for bed & the other would lay with Lennon, then we’d switch off. It had become totally ridiculous and unsustainable. At 4 months, I decided it would be a good idea to have him sleep in his own room. It was tough the first time, but after that he started only getting up once a night. I was pumped and wondered why we waited so long to transfer him to his crib. Those were my famous last words. I don’t know if Lennon started getting more aware that we were leaving him in his crib at night, if he was going through a developmental milestone, or what, but he started having a hard time settling again. We had to spend a couple hours at night to get him settled in his crib. In hindsight we should have let him CIO at that point, but I really wanted that to be our last resort. On one particularly hard night we brought him to bed with us and he fell asleep instantaneously. This started our habit of bringing him to bed again every night. Most nights we didn’t even try settling him in his crib because we knew our bed was a sure thing. At that point I knew he was pretty dependent on us & that it would take some major action to change this habit. I am a sleep-whore & I needed to get this under control.

We had never intended to co-sleep with our baby. I hated not having time to get things in order in the evenings, let alone have a conversation with Dave or spend an hour as just the two of us. I realized quickly that we were probably going to have to let the kid cry-it-out if we wanted him to sleep in his crib.  For over a month we put off the inevitable “sleep training”. Weekends away, hot summer nights, colds, diarrhea, teething….eventually I realized there was always going to be an excuse and we just needed to start it. Our first attempt failed. He cried off and on for two hours and we ended up brining him to bed with us. It was a bad idea to start on a Monday after a vacation weekend. We decided to push it off a few days so it landed on the weekend.

Dave and I really had to sit down and make a plan together. A plan that we both agreed on, & that we could hold one another accountable to. There’s nothing worse than arguing in the middle of the night with a screaming baby in the background. It sounds crazy that we had to write out an actual plan just for sleep. I always thought it was such a natural process! For Lennon it was not. I struggle with structure so this part was tough for me, but I just kept thinking about how badly I wanted my nights back.

So D day arrived and we equipped ourselves with a movie and pint of Ben & Jerry’s. The first night was terrible. We did our little nighttime routine, laid him in his crib and he proceeded to cry for 55 minutes. He fell asleep, but continued to wake up in half hour intervals for a couple more hours. Knowing I am not the emotionally strong one of the group, Dave took the first night. Lennon finally fell asleep again around 10:30 and didn’t wake until 1:30. He took his bottle, got a diaper change and proceeded to sleep until about 7:00. It was a descent second half of the night for the little guy. The next night he was really tired so I put him down around 6:30. The little booger cried for just 16 minutes and then drifted off into sleepy land. We were on egg shells the rest of the evening, but he didn’t wake up until 11:00. We gave him a bottle and a changing and he settled right back to sleep. The next morning he didn’t wake until we had to get him up for daycare.  Since then we’ve had some good nights & some bad, but for the most part he settles without crying and only gets up once for a little snack. This week for whatever reason he’s been waking at about 10:30, we feed him and then he cries for a good 45 minutes or so. I don’t pretend to know why, but I hope it ends soon.

I’m not naïve enough to think that our sleep problems are resolved. Lennon is not quite 7 months old so we’ve got plenty of time for more issues to pop up. I know we’ll have set-backs after trips, illnesses, developmental milestones, etc. It takes baby steps, but just getting that extra hour or two in the evenings has been amazing. I feel like I’ve gotten so much time back. You’d think my house would be cleaner ;).

A couple notes; Dave and I both read “The Sleep Easy Solution.” Basically, it promotes a very consistent bedtime routine & going in to comfort your baby in intervals until they fall asleep on their own. The book tells you not to touch your baby, but to just let them know you’re there and to stay no longer than 30 seconds. That part of the book did not work for us. Lennon would look at us like “why the hell are you in here, but not picking me up?” So we decided to go cold turkey on the poor kid. The book also mentions “dream feeding” so your child doesn’t associate crying in the night with getting a bottle. They say to go in at the same time every night and feed your baby basically while they’re still asleep. Every night there’s that small chance that Lennon will sleep through the night, so the hell if I’m going in there to feed him if he’s not crying.  We forewent that option originally, but now that he’s having these little crying episodes I’m considering trying it.

Every kid is different, but I think we learned a major lesson here that bad habits can creep up on you. People kept telling me “you can’t hold your baby enough,” & “just do what you have to do to get by.” I think I took those solid pieces of advice and ran with them. I don’t regret the things we did sleep-wise, you live and learn. I just think we made it harder on ourselves and Lennon by letting it get as far as it did. The CIO method is not for the faint of heart. There are two sides to every method and of course hearing your baby cry is terrible. I questioned myself every second that I could hear him screaming from his crib. “Will this emotionally damage him?”, “Is he going to hate us in the morning?”, “Can a kid die from crying this hard?”…ha, seriously. I really don’t know the answers, but sometimes you just have to make a decision and run with it. I know there are “no cry” or “cry less” methods that probably work too.  I have read that they typically take longer, but I would maybe try that out next time. Point being, CIO worked for us, but it was really tough & I hope with future children it doesn’t get to that point. Amen.

Glad you started reading?

Happy Mid-Week!

Weekly Shenanigans

We started sleep training with Lennon this week & so far it’s going pretty well. I hesitate to mention it, because it seems like anytime I do he switches things up on us. There have been some terrible nights and some great nights. Either way, he’s now sleeping in his crib and that’s all I can ask for!

Lennon has friends. A playdate with his future love interest, Alese Wolff a couple weeks ago & a little Saturday morning fun with his buddy Wyatt Leonard.

Lennon is a Packers fan. I’m sorry Minnesota people! I had hoped the pleather Packers Hat would not make it to another generation, but it seems it already has.

We spruced Lennon up for “picture day” at daycare on Wednesday. Seeing as though the fake tree backdrop was hanging out when Dave dropped him off, these photos should be interesting. Apparently he was afraid of the photographer so he’ll be sporting his Nuk in his photo this year. I can’t wait to see them, ha.

The strawberry chew toy lives on another week!

Have a great weekend!

Lennon at 6 months

I can’t believe Lennon turns 6 months this week! Now that he’s half a year old, I feel like we should have our sh** figured out a little more, ha. Sure, we’ve gotten into our groove with our schedules-he pretty much eats & naps at the same times, and it’s been awhile since I’ve forgotten to send something to daycare. But we’re still struggling a bit in the sleep department& there are definitely more days than not where I go into work with a wet ponytail. Lennon is waking up to eat once (sometimes twice, if he’s frisky) in the middle of the night, but I know he no longer needs these feedings. We’ll get it figured out…and then he’ll throw us through another loop ;).

At 6 months:

We just started him eating solids twice a day. He’s tried all different kinds of foods at this point. I’d say his favorites are probably bananas & oatmeal, and butternut squash. He’s not as thrilled about green food-peas, beans or spinach-but at this point he’ll eat pretty much anything we put in front of him.

He’s still loving his rubber strawberry. We’ll usually put frozen mango or banana in it and he goes crazy. I liken it to Dave eating ice cream.

I think he might be teething. I’ve been saying this for 3 months, so who knows. His gums look swollen to me and he chews hard on anything we put in front of him.

He’s started to “scoot” backwards. He’ll push up into a downward dog facing motion and maneuver his way back. Either he remembers the mommy/baby yoga class we took at 2 months, or he wants to crawl.

His “bouncy bouncy” as we call it, is one of his favorite toys. There are times when we can put him in there and he’ll bounce his little life away for 45 minutes.

He’s been playing around with his voice lately. He’ll scream& yell and “talk” to himself while in his bouncy or the stroller. He got baptized last weekend and he made fart noises with his mouth during the majority of the ceremony. I guess he was bored.

Just this week he has started arching his back the minute we try to put him in his stroller, carseat or Bumbo. He’s not overly upset that he’s being put into said contraptions, so I think he’s just playing around.

He rarely sits on his own. The only time I see him do it for extended periods of time is when he’s in the bathtub. Otherwise, he’ll just lunge forward.

He’s got a little sense of humor and sometimes I could swear he’s trying to make us laugh. If I try too hard to reciprocate he’ll just give me a gummy smile.

Random things will scare him. My mom’s bifocals, clothes hanging at the department store & people who wear hats, to name a few. On the other end of the spectrum, he’s fascinated with ceiling fans, tags & adult conversations.

Here are a few photos of Lennon at 6 months old:

Sometimes all you need in life is a nap in a swing.

Love that little profile.

We love our little stinker so much. Happy half birthday, Lennon! If the next 6 months go this quickly, I better start planning your first birthday party now.

Hot to Trot

We’ve been doing what we can to dart the heat this week. Dipping in the kiddie pool, closing all of the shades in our house & maxing out our fans and ac units, to name a few. Lennon’s daycare has their yearly shut-down so he’s having a random week with kind relatives who’ve volunteered to help us out. Monday with Grandma Jay, Tuesday with Aunt Jill, Weds and Thursday with dad & mom and then Friday with Grandma Mary Jo and Grandpa Wyon. If things keep trending the way they have been, he’ll be calling the shots all week. Exhibit A: Hanging out in exersaucer with toys in both hands & nuk in mouth while watching cartoons.

Lennon’s favorite things this week are his chew toy strawberry & green sea turtle bath toy. He has way cooler toys than the turtle, but whenever I place them all in front of him, he goes for it. Simple Lennon, I guess.

Pool time! Mr. (or Mrs.) Sea Turtle joined in on the fun.

Lennon is afraid of my mom when she puts her bifocals on and this is the face he makes.

Riding around the neighborhood with Sophie…oh the life.

Finally settled at night…in mom and dad’s bed. Lennon wins again ;).

We were hoping to give Lennon his first State Fair experience this week, but the more I think about it, the more darting through crowds with an oversized stroller & a sweaty infant does not sound appealing. Maybe we’ll wait until next year when he can enjoy a cheese curd or two. Stay cool!

Our 5 Month Old

It has been a big month so far for Lennon. He had his first pony ride, learned how to use his
exersaucer, said good-bye to uncle Ben and started riding forward in his stroller. Lately he has been
trying to use his vocal cords a lot. He’ll yell and “talk” to himself in the car on his way to and from
daycare.  I think he might be teething so I bought him one of those rubber strawberries that you stick food in and they chew on it. It might be his new favorite thing in the world...besides daddy. He still laughs hysterically when Dave does something funny, but only smiles if I make an attempt. Also, we can mark green beans as the first food he tried & doesn’t like. He gagged and almost threw up when we fed them to him. The kid is already complaining about my cooking. He's still getting about 30 oz of milk a day and we feed him solids around dinner time. At his last appointment he gained a little over a pound in a month and grew 1 inch....I think the solids are working.

Here's a very random photo dump of what be the haps with Lennon lately;

Since this photo was taken, Lennon no longer needs a book while bouncing around. He’s still pretty
much on his tippy toes, but it works… as long as his diaper isn’t too restricting.

My brother Ben moved to Hawaii for a year so we bid him farewell a couple of weekends ago. It was
a luau theme…hence the tattoo on Ben’s cheek ;). It’s hard to believe the next time he sees Lennon he’ll be walking & maybe even talking. Skype and Facetime are a must. We’ll miss you, uncle Ben!

This is the scene for nap time lately.

He loves this light that my grandma Molly gave him. It’s shaped like a frog and it sparkles and lights up. I got a whole load of laundry folded the other night just by placing it in front of him.

I hate to tell you this Lennon, but Jockeying might be the sport you’re best suited for.

All of these new activities must be throwing Lennon off as he’s had some rough nights in the sleep
department lately. That, or he’s just smart enough to realize its way more fun to sleep with mom & dad
than in his boring crib. We still love him, though.

We’ve sparked a new interest in the stroller just by facing Lennon forward.  I guess he just wanted to be treated like the big kid that he is. We’ve even been able to trick him into falling asleep a couple times.

Cheers to our baby boy being 5 months old. We love you, sweetie pie.

Lennon This Week

Thinks it’s hilarious when we have “dance parties”. Dave and I….well okay, I initiated a dance-off last weekend and Lennon started giggling. Anyone with a baby knows if you make your kid laugh once you beat a dead horse to keep it going. So I pop, drop & locked it until my legs felt like they were going to fall off. Dave joined in on the action too, but he was a little reserved & worried the neighbors would see.

Doesn’t want to settle at night. It takes us a good 2 hours to get Lennon to sleep in the evenings. We transferred him to his crib a couple of weeks ago and he’s been sleeping better, but the kid does not like going to bed. We tried to CIO one night, but we both ended up feeling bad so we picked him up, ha….real effective. We usually go through a song and dance of going back in to put his Nuk in or cuddling a bit more until he finally tires himself out. Once he does fall asleep he’s been doing pretty well, though. For the past week he’s only been getting up once in the middle of the night to eat.

Met & loves his Great-Great uncle Gordon from California.

Is on the move…almost. Daycare says they think he gets frustrated because he can’t crawl. Sometimes he’ll be on his blanket and he scoots his little butt in the air and tries to propel forward, then he whines when nothing happens. Give us a few more months, buddy!

Likes peas. I tried them and thought they were nasty, but they seem to be his favorite food thus far. We’ll ruin his love of veggies as soon as he gets his first taste of Izzy’s ice cream, I’m sure.

Isn’t into his stroller. He starts out pretty happy, but he’s been getting bored lately on our walks. I used to be able to walk for an hour or so and he’d either sleep or watch the trees. Now, I’m lucky if we can go 20 minutes.

Kicks books. We try to have a bedtime routine in the evening, which includes a reading session with some of our favorites… “Gallop”, “Freight Train”, “Peek-a-Who” & “123 Minnesota”. Lately though, Lennon won’t sit still and thinks it’s hilarious to kick the books while we’re reading. As soon as I pull a book out, his eyes get wide and his little legs start to move. So I guess we don’t have an academic on our hands.

Is a rough-houser. When Dave or I kick a ball at him, make a loud noise or “scare” him he’ll giggle.

Have a great weekend!
