Lennon turned 10 months on January 07th. 2 more
months until the little nugget turns 1! I’ve been over the newborn stage for a
while, but sometimes you just want time to stop. It feels like the next time
you blink, your babe will be graduating high school.
Things that the little booger has been up to lately:
crawling, crawling & crawling some more. Walking around furniture, throwing
toys & standing. He can stand for a good minute or so but he has to be
distracted with a toy and usually doesn’t realize he’s doing it. He loves to
push things and “walk” with them. His favorite toy of the moment is the
standing activity table that Santa got for him. He’ll stand and play and bounce
at it and then push it across the living room and laugh. He’ll be hyper one
minute, and then we catch him quietly paging through books the next.
Some things that scare mom and dad: he loves power cords and
will go after any that he sees. I yelled “icky” at him the other day when he
was trying to put one in his mouth and it scared him, so hopefully he’s getting
the idea. He’ll crawl up the stairs and let himself fall backwards so we have
to catch him & he stands up to furniture and falls backwards thinking it’s
funny when we rush over to protect his head. Boys will be boys.
Other new things this month: at the ripe old age of 10
months Lennon is just getting his first teeth. Now I can blame irritably on
something legitimate. We started swimming lessons a couple weeks ago and let’s
just say they could be going better. He’s a bit scared of the water &
really does not like the teacher and all of the activities. I thought he’d like
being around the other kids…who are all happy and splashing…but no cigar. Also,
he’s currently transitioning to the “older infant” room at daycare. The
transition has been a little sketchy. He apparently pouted for a good 15
minutes in the corner on the first day…ha ha. My. God. I figured there would be
an adjustment period for our dramatic little boy, but I do think he’s ready for
bigger and better adventures so hopefully next week goes better.
Our hungry boy is still eating well & now follows us
around if we have food in our hands. I am being called out on my snacking by a
dang infant. He still loves to be around Dave and me and will follow wherever
we go. Lennon thinks Dave is hilarious and sometimes he will just look at him
and laugh…assuming he’s about to do something funny to entertain him. He says
“dadadadadada”, but I’m unsure if he associates it with Dave yet.
We continue to learn more about Lennon’s personality all the
time….one of my favorite parts about parenting. He’s very curious, alert and
aware of every new thing around him. He recently learned how to turn light
switches on and it blew his mind. He’s constantly moving from one room to the
next in our house trying to discover new things. Our messy office has become
his latest conquest. If I turn away for more than 5 seconds, chances are he’s
digging in office files. He can be so cautious one minute, then I turn around
and he has his finger in a light socket while hanging from the railing. What an
interesting little man we’ve got on our hands.
And now what everyone really wants to see…some pictures of
the munchkin:
Remember the movie “Problem Child”?...Yikes
Whew, that’s better
Lennon and his buddy Hudson…who is 4 months younger, but the
same size, ha
Stressed out about the 90 degree salt water pool
The Johnny Jump Up still works to keep Lennon occupied while
we cook, clean or simply go to the bathroom
Um…ouch
Happy 10 months Lennon!
Sparkles and sunshine,
Mom
