Other noteworthy things about Lennon at almost 16 months: He
loves to dance. Anytime there’s music playing he starts to bounce. He and Dave
beat box together and it’s pretty cute. Sometimes he’ll look up at Dave and put
his hands on his mouth to illicit a spontaneous beat boxing session. He’s starting to use spoons and forks to eat
his food and he’s got somewhat of an independent spirit. Gone are the days of
us helping him eat.
We’ve been having some biting and pulling hair issues.
Daycare sends home incident reports that I’m keeping in his baby book ;) It’s
tough because we’re usually not there when it happens. Over the weekend we
witnessed it first-hand and took him aside for a time out. He cries after he
gets in trouble so I think he understands it’s wrong. Hopefully he doesn’t
carry on this phase through adulthood like that soccer player in the World Cup,
ha.
Speaking of soccer, Dave was in Brazil last week to watch the
U.S. vs. Ghana game. Lennon and I got a whole week to spend some quality mom/son
time together. We had a playdate with the Leonard kids, visited the Barrett
grandparents and got some good stroller time in. We had a great time, but we
missed daddy. Lennon kept pointing upstairs and saying “dad-tee”. My beat
boxing skills are not up to par, so we were relieved when Dave made it home
safely.
Other than that, we've just been enjoying the no shirts required weather!
